How to Bootloader Unlock your Htc One M7 on Linux

What you need:
Pc with Linux/Terminal
USB Cable
Device
Fastboot/ADB Files

Always make a backup first

Make sure your device is fully charged

Go to htcdev.com and register for an account
(Note unlocking the bootloader will void your warranty.)


On Phone - Enable USB Debugging in Developers Options


If Developers options have not been activated yet goto - Settings/About/Build Number(May be under the More tab)Tap build number until you see a toast that says you are now a Developer. Back out to the settings and select Developer options and find Usb Debugging and click it.


Make sure fastboot is disabled go to settings/battery manager/click fastboot off

Install Fastboot/ADB on your PC if you have not already

Warning: This will wipe your device including internal storage backup your files/data

Step 1. Place your device in Fastboot mode by holding volume down and power (device must first be off) select fastboot from the menu by moving with volume up/down and selecting with the power button.

Step 2. Connect device to pc with USB cable

Step 3 Open terminal and type or drag and drop:


Press Enter


You will see some text show up in the terminal copy the identifier token. (Only the token you will see (bootloader) or another word on the side do not copy those)

Step 4. Head over to htcdev.com and log in
Select the Unlock Bootloader button.


Select your device model and agree to the terms. Read the instructions (most we have already completed.)
continue to step five on the next page read everything then in the blank white box at the bottom paste the identifier token from the terminal we copied earlier. You will receive an e-mail (to the e-mail address you used to sign up to htcdev.com with.) containing your unlock_code.bin

Step 5. Place the unlock_bin on your Desktop for easy access in a moment.

Step 6. Open terminal and change the directory to the Desktop. Once the directory has been changed,

Type or drag and drop this command:


Press Enter


You will now see a confirmation screen appear on your phone. Confirm the Bootloader unlocking using your volume key to select yes confirming with the power button.
Your phone will do its work and reboot......

Congratulations you should now be Bootloader unlocked.

Be sure to keep your unlock_code.bin file in a safe place for future use (do not lose it).
